Sichuan Folk: Reviews & Ratings
Found My New Favorite Sichuan Spot! Just had my first visit to Sichuan Folk and I'm already hooked! I was craving fish but didn't want the usual deep-fried stuff. Ordering over the phone was a bit confusing, so I just drove down to order takeout in person. Got the Sliced Fish Fillet with Diced Chili Pepper, Basil Fish Fillet, and Beef Fried Rice. The fried rice and basil fish were perfection! The other fish dish was way too spicy for me, but that's totally on me and my heat tolerance—not the restaurant's fault. The portions are super generous too, which is always a plus. Overall, this place is a winner. Already planning my next visit!
Very solid place. I wouldn’t say it’s amazing overall, but there are great dishes that are must (for me). Note: I’ve been here ONCE (and comparing it to Hunan Bistro in Plano). A) The snow peas, you always get that. B) bitter melon? It’s pretty solid here but it’s bitter so for westerners, be careful. C) noodle (lo mein) — 4.5 star D) Fish filet piece - 4 star. Very good fresh fish but crumbly and the pickled (olive) is a little weird for me. E) 3 piece cold dish - not my style so 4 star. Good enough pig ear, cucumber, and beef. So it’s a 4 star for me. I’ve had better but would need to come again and try several other dishes
So freaking good! Came here for a work appreciation thing. Man, I felt appreciated. Food is amazing, service is top notch, going with a group (large or small) to this place is a great way to connect over a memorable meal
Had the pleasure of enjoying the hospitality during a fun event. The food is amazing! Every dish we got to enjoy was authentic, flavorful and well prepared. The atmosphere is comfortable and the service is above and beyond. Highly recommend!
Solid dishes and spices. I appreciate that this place is not fully americanized like many other chinese restaurants here. Dan Dan Noodle had good flavor. Chilli fish was tender. Prices are fair
Went for Christmas lunch with my family and it was amazing. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered many dishes family style but some of my favorites were the mapo tofu, the chicken lo mein, the snow pea leaves, the green beans, eggplant, and the soup dumplings. My family also mentioned they enjoyed the baked fish and the shrimp and egg dish which I did not try. The eggplant dish is incredible - spicy fried eggplant that melts into your mouth. The only thing I did not appreciate was the loud ordering notifications in the background. I will still be coming back, in person and for takeout.
This place has THE most flavorful dishes. Spicy, non spicy, soups, veggies, all full of flavor. Service is fast, friendly, helpful, and non judgemental to those of us who can't seem to figure out how to use chopsticks. It can get a bit loud if you come during busy time so I've learned to come after the rush crowd.
Went to Sichuan Folk in Plano for dinner and tried the chili chicken and the spicy fish soup. Both dishes were excellent, full of flavor. The setup is unique because you place your order online while dining in, which makes the process quick and easy. The restaurant also has a private room available, which is great for small gatherings or special occasions. Overall, a solid spot for authentic and delicious Sichuan food.
